i just finished reading The Outsider like a few minutes ago. here's a quote, "there's all sorts of love. Deep and shallow, pure and naughty. Blessed and cursed. But the best love is the kind that comes back at you from the person you give it to, bright and blindin' like the sun bouncin' off a mirror.".
here's the gist of the story...
In 1880s Montana, the Plain people are threatened from all sides. In town, worldly temptations lure their young people away; in the hills, a ruthless cattle baron is trying to drive them off their land. When a wounded gunfighter (johnny cain) stumbles into their beleaguered community, the elders see him only as another threat. But young Amish widow Rachel Yoder hasn't the heart to drive him away.
Is not love a Hercules,
Still climbing trees in the Hesperides?
Subtle as Sphinx; as sweet and musical
As bright as Apollo's lute strung with his hair.
well, if you're to borrow this book be it from the library or me, the best way to embrace the full story with full understanding is to imagine it literally in your mind, the happenings and stuff.
Who can stay in an abusive relationship for three years before realising it's not gonna work out this way? holler your guess at my handy dandy TAGBOARD people!
for now, keep your guesses coming in, continue mugging for exams people, whatever. while i enjoy the comical Date Movie. x)
